Angry Three Flamingos Killed In Zoo-aarrgghh!

Flamingos Killed in German Zoo Attack

Oct 23 12:43 PM US/Eastern

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - Intruders decapitated three flamingos and strangled a fourth in a grisly attack at Frankfurt's zoo, officials said Tuesday.
Police said the birds were killed inside their enclosure by intruders who sneaked into the zoo between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

The zoo said three of the birds killed were more than 30 years old. The fourth was a Chilean flamingo, a species native to the South American country.

The zoo counts several flamingos among its menagerie of animals that includes rhinoceros, hippos lions, giraffes and scores of different birds, insects and reptiles.

How awful...the poor birds that grace us with such beauty to meet their death at the hands of senseless idiots. I hope they are caught and dealt with in a harsh fashion. I just don't understand how evil people can be.

That's the most repulsive story I've read. Give me two minutes alone with the murderers.

There was recently a story on Animal Precinct where two swans sitting on eggs in New York were attacked and slaughtered. They were able to save the eggs and incubate them (all hatched!) but they were still looking for the murderes.

thats horrible about the swans too :( what kind of sick thrills do these idiots get?? im not sure i wanna know, but i sure hope they make their way to prison, they will get their share of thrills in there. we have armed night keepers at our zoo, patrolling all night :) i sure hope they can prevent any bad things like these from happening :)

Unhappy pathological humans

There is something deeply mentally wrong with the sort of people that do this. I mean, that seems like a 'DUH!' statement, but the kind of animal killings described are usually the product of someone who is mentally ill and who feels the need to kill for the rush of it. Those who kill an animal in the process of committing another crime are bad enough, such as a burglar who kills a dog that suddenly rushes him to defend his territory. But since this looks as if it was carefully and deliberately planned, the Frankfurt police are probably dealing with someone who will try this again in order to get the 'fix' they need by killing something. The frightening thing about this, other than the killing of innocent animals, is that eventually the mentally ill people like this stop hunting animals to get the rush they need and start hunting human beings. I sincerely hope that law enforcement can find this sicko soon before he or she starts in on one of the citizens of Frankfurt. Not the most comforting post and I am really sorry for the loss of such beautiful birds, but if anyone in Frankfurt can lend a hand to the police in investigating the incident, I urge them to do so.
