I've had wonderful results with Nekton-Bio. You can safely double the Bio daily dosage to help induce a molt. It is my experience that once you have a successful molt (no plucking) to keep the bird on Bio for several more months. The distributor says that you can keep them on Bio indefinitely and some bird stores are sending babies out with the recommendation of using Bio as the regular supplement.

I've always switched back to Nekton-S afterwards. Great product to use during regular molts as well.

Hello,

Thanks. I'm really counting on that!! I just started to use the Nekton-bio and some tiny feathers are appearing!! I started 8 days ago.

Is this a miracle product or what? For now Johnny IS NOT interested in the new small feathers... Let's hope he stays like that.

In its new home he is a lot more funny and happy. That helped, but the Nekton products are amazing...

Regards

I don't think I'd classify it as a miracle product but it definitely is an excellent product that is worth every penny.

The thing about the Bio is that it is not meant for feather pluckers. Whats its intended purpose is is to promote healthy feather growth. It is not going to stop plucking that is behavior or habit related BUT if it is caused by a deficiency in any of the vital minerals, amino acids or vitamins, it will help correct it.

I personally feel that it is worth a try for anyone that has a plucker.

To keep your bird from plucking the new growth, the other recommendations made in this thread are invaluable.

Here's a copy of the Product sheet for any that are interested.
