INTERESTING to see all the various views...Thank you for all who commented~ at least it shows 'interest'. Although I have been tempted to reply to many posts here with 'informed' answers, I have chosen to with-hold my comments in effort to avoid conflict on such topic since some people find it difficult to simply 'agree to disagree'. I have learned invaluable lessons here on Birdboard & choose to keep my mind & heart open to such. This situation has enlightened me beyond my expectations & has revealed who some really are instead of whom they attempt to portray...Thanks again~

Oh come on now Smurfy , do share some of those "informed" answers . Discussion, debate and even well intentioned (hopefully polite) spirited arguments (in the interests of anyone's/everyone's birds) are the ingredients for progress - for both the humans and the birds. IMO.

I do agree on your point though = that many times, people's true personalities do emerge when the going gets a lil rough. I have found that out myself over the past many many months - both here and elsewhere. Such is life.

I have also found that the people/members that are truly interested in helping the birds to have a better and more healthier life, do continue to do so on as many bird Boards as they have time for, even when the waters are rocky where-ever. JMO.

I think it's against the rules here to promote other bird boards either in the threads or by PM.

Sigh! She mentioned that it in her website. I did not pluck it from thin air.

Reason why birds kill their babies when its not pulled out is because some breeders get greedy and pull out the eggs instead of leaving it with the parents is so that the birds will breed more (this was also mentioned by her on how to get the birds to breed more). Thus, if you later want to change to letting the birds raise their young even for a short while its not possible any more as the birds do not recognise their young.

Oh boy, I thought this topic was closed already since the auction is long over.

I assume you are talking to me, since you quoted my post.

I don't see anywhere in my post where I am specifically promoting any other Boards...... And if I may have mentioned one or two in a pm in the past (a couple/few times over the years - my memory is foggy on that), I think the powers-that-be here are not going to tar & feather me for same (especially considering all I have contributed to this Board - over the many years I have been a member here).

Sheeze (since you directly or indirectly brought up the subject), heaven forbid people exercise their free choice & become members of numerous Boards - to help someone elses birds or get help for their birds, whenever/wherever they can. If a person can't get proper help or better help for their needy bird here or wherever, then I see no problem telling them of somewhere they can get additional assistance. Again, I think it should be all about the birds and not certain people playing their silly little games wherever. JMO.

I have been at exotic animal actions. Not a pretty sight. At one, my wife spent hours wattering caged birds, rabits, snakes, gerbills. You name it. They made her stop as she was not an official employee. She had done most of the watering needed, but we still felt bad.

I reciently purchased five macaws from an auction in Misourri. Animals are bought and sold. Can't stop that, even if it seems worng on some calm level of our minds.

Do what is best and do what you can do without going to an extent where you loose control. She lost control, and now what was done to bring in control was done.

I would think most all of those birds are doing OK now. I would hope Fate/Karma would do that for them.
