Unhappy Is there ever a point..

I was wondering for anyone else too, If there was ever a point where you stop worrying about things that could happen to your parrot? Like I read this thing where they took their parrot to have nails clipped and while they had her in the towel she died, so now I'm afraid to take him to the vet even though he keeps his nails trimed hisself. But I constantly worry about things that might happen to him and I absolutley don't know what I would do if I lost him because I dont have kids so he is my child. I was just wondering if it ever goes away or not because I read things that can happen to birds and I dont know what I would do if anything happened.

Not for me either. I worry every time I leave the house, when I uncover them in the morning....pretty much when I'm not here. I have tiels though and they have night frights often and broken blood feathers so I'm always worried I somehow slept through a night fright and they got hurt. I've always been a paranoid person though.

I think I'm a paraniod person as well because, like you said its when I'm not there I worry about him until I get there and I work nights and my boyfriend works days so there is someone always there but I still worry all the time.

If it makes you feel better, I live 5 mins away from work. I take my 1 hour lunchbreak and break it down into three short breaks. I run home, check on everybody... fill my tea glass and go back to work. Hows that for paranoid?

I read your other post (and cried like a baby) and I think you have every right to be paranoid. It's the little things that we don't think are going to happen that worry me the most.

I work from home and thankfully all the really bad things (seriously, my birds break blood feathers almost weekly) have happened when I was home. I worry like crazy when I'm gone for a few hours though. They are all in my room and I have to sleep with the TV on since I have 3 that have night frights which then freaks everyone else out. I'm looking to move somewhere where they can have their own room but I don't know how I will be able to handle that. My boyfriend thought I was nuts when I told him we would need a baby monitor in case they have a "nightmare". (hard to explain night frights to non-bird people)

I live an hour away but even though there is someone there at night, there isnt anyone there from 5 to 8 so I speed home trying not to get caught to get to him and make sure that hes ok and I wait to wake him up but I make sure I hear his toenails click against his dish(where he sleeps). But I try to go out with my boyfriend and do things but its so hard to leave them behind whatever we do it has to be quick even though it can't because we live so far from everything.

My Wawa is my life... I don't have kids either. I can honestly say I have never loved and of god's creatures as much as I love him. When I have had the worst of days... all I have to do is sit with him... hold him up to my face, breathe in that wonderful essence of bird smell, feel his soft feathers against my face, and suddenly, there can be nothing wrong in the world.... so yes, I worry all the time.
