"Parrots for Dummies"

Hi All ... I just wanted to share what I think is an excellent book for new or experienced bird guardians. I have found this book to be informative, funny and well written. The author doesn't lecture or talk down to you, but offers good sound advice and hints from her personal experience.

Good Luck!

Hugs, Karen and Cuca

"Birds for Dummies" is also an interesting read. It's a bit older but one of the authors is a really well-known avian vet. I picked up a used copy through Amazon for a few bucks :)

I haven't seen Parrots for Dummies, but do have Birds for Dummies, and Dr. Brian Speer, well-known avian vet, is a co-author.

I've read it and I think it is a great book for a beginner that needs general all around knowledge. It really is a good first book to read so you know if you want to step into the world of parrots.

Most of the "Dummies" books are quite helpful and really a good introduction into new topics. I think I'm gonna get myself the parrot one. Should be a fun read.

It is a really great book. I love the short intro into the parrot species and all.

Parrots for dummies has some major flaws, I prefer Birds for Dummies in all honesty.

I haven't read Parrots for Dummies but have heard a lot of good things about it. I have heard that it is one of the better general parrot care books out there.

I'm also interested to hear that. I have the Birds for Dummies book, but I was thinking about getting the Parrots one. I don't want to be misled by any info though......

Thanks.
