I've already sent off my email to my representative. We can't let this bill pass.

It's for the most part a good video, but it does exaggerate a few things. No not all non native pets will be illegal, but will a significant number be? In all likelihood, yes, and will it decimate the pet industry, hurt zoos, breeding for conservation, anyone using nonnatives for educational purposes, and probably very severely.

asurademon, the video doesn't need to exaggerate anything, especially when you put it so succinctly. :p All it needs to do is tell the truth, and the truth is that it will hurt many industries, our liberties, etc., very significantly.

I don't doubt it will be a disaster, it will be. You are right the video doesn't need to exaggerate (I never said it needed to), but it does a bit. He says it will ban all non-natives, that is an exaggeration and not the case, it will likely ban the majority, but it does not ban all of them. Indeed there's all ready a very pitifully short list of exempt nonnative animals.

Do we need to argue over the details? Let's put that energy into writing letters.

Only way to get the point across to congress is to use your rights as a citizen. Write your representative and make it perfectly clear that you disapprove. We still control the government but everyone has to say something so we will have numbers on our side. For to many years our representatives have passed idiotic laws, and bills to help big business, well connected organizations, and even foreign powers. This is one bill that has hit close to home on many of you. Use your power as an American to make your rep. "toe the line" and do the job they were hired for.

If you do not know how to write congress, just follow the link in the first post. It is an easy way to have your voice heard.

Trav. there is no approved list at this time. From what I have researched, it will make all non-native animals illegal until they are proven to be OK (proper studies and research needed). Imagine if our justice system was Guilty until proven innocent.
