I'd love for him to spend some quality time with one of my breeder Greys. Fred would have a lot to say to him before rending him into tiny bits.

-_-

What a sad story. It never said if the son was with him, I assume he was since the article said the police warned father and son. I guess when your dad is in a drunken frenzy and waving a gun, it might be hard to step in, even if it is only a bb gun.

Urgh that makes me sick to the stomach. What on earth would possess someone to do something so heinous to a delicate, intelligent grey!? If anything, put its cage out of sight if you're THAT angry, then give it a new home asap. But painfully murdering it!? What happens when his wife angers him one day? His kid? I hope he gets the punishment he deserves (well... that the law would believe he deserves... of course I have worse things in mind) and that this act brings him misery for the rest of his life. It kills me that someone who has the honor and privilege to own such an incredibly amazing creature would completely abuse this when there are people out there that would do anything to care for, love and spoil a grey.

One second is all it would have taken me to take the bird off his hands. One second.

And he murdered him. What a world we live in.. I am truly disgusted.

Did anyone read the comments? "Stupid bird, if it was so smart why didn't it fly away to it's natural habitat?!" People are so stupid! Duh, it was in a cage! OMG, I'm done.

A friend of mine adopted a CAG from Craigslist. When she went to see the bird, he had no perch, just bunge cords. Anyway, she took him to the vet right away and discovered he is blind. The vet believes he was blinded from being struck on the head. Also, that he was hit on the head to shut him up.

When she tried to contact these 'cretins' once she found that out...they disappeared!

She loves the bird regardless and he is doing great. He even comes out of his cage now. We feel that at least now he is in a good loving home.

This is just sickening. IMO, animal abusers are just as bad as child molesters or worse.

My gawd what a heartless individual! I wish could give him a good old fashion smiley on the curb! Horrible human being, and his alcoholism isn't a valid excuse IMO and he couldnt have been too drunk considering he hit a small grey 3 TIMES! Thats some good aim for a drunk 67yo that for sure. He needs jail time.
