Newly discovered Tiny Parrots (and more species)
"The crew also filmed the world's smallest parrot in the wild for the first time. The buff-faced pygmy parrot is about nine centimetres tall and weighs less than 12 grams."

Yes, I read about this and saw it in the news. Its truly amazing what life can thrive when humans arent interrupting the process. I hope that they protect this area and dont destroy it. It would be a shame to see that ecosystem be wiped out.

Let's see... the Buff Faced Pygmy Parrot weighs 12 grams, approximately.
The largest hummingbird species (Giant Hummingbird - Patagona gigas) supposedly weighs about 24 grams. The smallest hummingbird (Bee Hummingbird - Mellisuga helenae) weighs 1.6 grams. hummingbird on Flickr - Photo Sharing! So is it smaller than a Humming bird?
