Exclamation Pls help to avoid bird-hunting with glue in Spain

Hello from Germany,

hope I post this in the correct category, if not, pls move it!

I wanted to ask you if you will support the protest/campaign against the legalization of hunting birds with glue or with net-traps.

Here the link in english: Do you want to see them like that?

The voting doesn't work in any language, except in "catala".
You may fill out the catalanian form

and send it - pls check if your vote is listed here: Llibre de signatures contra la legalització de la caça amb vesc i filat a Catalunya .

Sometimes it works, sometimes not - but please try it again and again to protect the lives of our wild birds.

Pls tell your friends and crosspost it - the birds urgently need every vote!

Thank you so much!
Gitti (from Germany, with "alien" English :-)) )

I see that it worked, but I'm wondering.. even though this post is old.. why are they trapping songbirds?

I know its illegal to trap/kill/keep NATIVE songbirds in the United States without proper licenses. Just wondering what the rules are in other parts of the world...

Thanks for the info, Gitti. I signed on the English form and it showed up in the book, so maybe they fixed the site.

i knew a guy who used to trap finches when i was a child,he would use a cage with a songbird in it to lure the finches onto perches covered in glue so they would get stuck and he would catch and sell them,im pretty sure its illegal here too.

It seems the decree has been removed. Does that mean we don't have to deal with yet another headache of abuse?

Yuck!! poor birds :( songbirds usually have these tiny, scrawny little toes and legs, how are they not ripping them off when they try to get the birds off of the glue sticks?? :( poor babies :(

They cover the branches on a tree with a glue so that when birds land on it they are stuck there till the poacher (whatever) decides to come up and grab them. Sometimes they lose a toe in the process, at least I'm pretty sure how that is done.
