No worries ppl,half of the people in my class (mostly the girls ^.^ ) want a budgie so they will have owners/good homes and im trying to stock up on info about breeding them! no worries here!!! And...I NEED 2 PAIRS?

Not always, but if they don't start breeding and you have "EVERYTHING ELSE RIGHT FIRST" then you may have to consider another mature pair later. I would do everything else first. Try to find a local bird breeder who might let you come visit and ask questions for a few hours or even volunteer for a day.

We would love to see pictures! Also just want to double check on how old your friends are who want to adopt the babies. Almost all of my birds are re-homed, and a lot of them are from people who really wanted birds and were wonderful parronts, but then had to go away to college, got married and had a human baby or were too busy in school and just did not have time to take care of their "babies" any longer. I know it is hard when you are young, but I really encourage folks to think what is going to happen in five, ten or twenty years. It can be really hard to find a dorm room or rental that will take pets. And remember you will need enough free time every day for the next 10 - 20 years to give the breeder birds the care and attention that they deserve!

i'll show you pics but they r gonna be blurry but most parakeets will sadly die before people go to college and im goning to be a vet so probaly there will be dorms that will allow pets ^.^

with the proper care and right nutrition, budgies can live up to 15yrs.... so unless you give the bird to a 3yr old i don't agree with the above statement
