Breeding Rose brested, Help?

My friend who raises allot of different species is not getting anything from her rosies and I know there are some rosie ppl on here that may be able to help. The male is approximatly 9-10 and the female is ?? but more than 5. The male is proven. Any advise would help she has had them for four years with no results. They are SS and healthy and good feather- Vet checked regularly. Someone told her they needed a cold snap. She keeps all her larger birds outside all summer and she had put them out earlier last year. I want one of her babies!! If we could only get some, lol! SOOOooo all you Aussie /Rosie specialists out there...fire away

I don't breed any cockatoos, but the first thing that came to mind after reading your message was that there might be an aggressive or noisy pair of birds in a nearby cage. That could certainly divert the rosies' attention from what your friend wants them to do!

Well she has been breeding for many years and she does understand that part. When they are outside they are all far enough apart and also have some visual barriers. I am looking for some tips maybe specific to rose breasteds.

i knew someone who had a pair of eclectus that would not breed to save her life, so she sold them to another breeder. the new breeder set them up in their own room and set up a camera hooked up to her computer to watch them, only going in there to feed and water and clean. within 2 months she had eggs then babies. the original breeder had them in a room with all her other birds where there was alot of traffic. maybe these rosies want their own room to do their thing

This is why they say Rosebreasted are rare- they tend not to reproduce well in captivity. I know in Va they go for 2000.00 when chicks are available. I LOVE them, they are soft as silk and spunky, always happy.

They need if you can give them eucalyptus branches

Rose Breast love eucalyptus. All my pairs as soon as I put it in their cages they fan each other with just one small new branch. and they do this for about 3-5 min. then they start to chew the rest of the branches and put the leaves in the nest box. Try that then put small branches and leaves in the nest box. They need to have a lining of wood in the nest box if metal. They need to dig the nest box to stimulate them to breed.
I'm down sizing my 5 facilities I have three proven pairs of Rose Breast left and one single proven male. They babies start to come in about one to two months from now.
