1st lovie egg, got a ?

I got my first egg today from my creamino lovebird. What I want to know is, do you mark your eggs, or just mark it on the calendar and leave the eggs alone? thanks

lovies

I tried to edit to put a picture of my lovebirds on here. My female is a creamino with the violet factor in her, and the male I am unsure of, anyone know? his back is green with blue under the wings. thanks

I dont mark my eggs. I start candleing them at about five days after the first lay with a little bendy led flashlight I have. The first one laid will start to show veining in about five days.

If its fertile

I did mark when I had to put eggs from one hen under another. I had a male get away from me outside and I was worried the female either would lose weight from not being fed and would have trouble caring for the little ones alone so I put her eggs under a suurogate pair who were good parents but only had one fertile out of six. I marked the alien eggs so I knew who the parents were for banding etc.
