pairing bloodline question

I know close bloodline like parent x kids or sisters x brothers are bad bad idea to pair up
but how far generation is least acceptable to pair up?

Anyone any suggestions?

I see noone has bitten the bullet.

I wouldn't do it for a few generations, say-3 or 4 times removed out. But the babies from there would have to not be bred to the same lines, it would take a bit of trickiness to do.

I choose birds that are not related from different breeders. I dont try to create mutations - closer breeding is really only what they like to do when creating a new mutation. I try to get mates from far away breeders for babies from my own aviary. I feel as far out as possible from line breeding is important in keeping strong birds. For example I started out with three totally unrelated pairs and all birds were unrelated so any babies I had could also be paired with the others babies and then I got some mates from other aviaries that were distant from the aviaries mine came from. No Guarantees but.....

i dont pair up related birds....period. sometimes its really hard to find the exact mutation or color that i want, and some birds are really hard to find, it took over 2 years to find my two unrelated pairs of plum heads, but when you finally do find the bird that you are looking for, and its unrelated to the birds that you already have, its worth the wait, and your reward for waiting so long is that you will have beautiful, healthy, strong babies with no health issues or defects
