Breeders in Southern California

I was wondering what type of breeders are located in Southern California. I have made some searches on google and just find a huge list of pages.
Thanks

I live in So Cal and I go to Everybody's Bird Mart. Page 1 This is the link to the site. It is not very helpful. They update it for the date of the next show. The next one is in June. It is held at the Fairplex in Pomona. They have some serious breeders and some well not so great breeders. The nice thing about it is that you can also get toys, cages, food and all the other stuff your fid could need or want. If you do go take some sort of buggy so you can carry your new bird and all of its stuff. There are many family owned pet stores who get their birds from this event. So if you are willing to wait a bit it is a great place to try. Just look out for the crappy breeders. I hope this helps.

I live in the San Diego area, and am a member of Hookbill Hobbyists. Some of our memebers are breeders. I know now is the time for babies. What type of bird are you looking for? I like going to the Pomona Bird Mart, and will be going again in June. It's a great place to buy alot of things you need. I've found the prices are pretty good too, especially on cages. There are quite of few breeders there, but I'm not exactly sure how you could tell a good breeder from a bad one. I look at the birds to see if they look alert, healthy and friendly and how clean their cages are. I haven't bought one yet. Some fellow bird owners and club members say they would never buy birds from birdmarts, because there's a greater chance of those birds being exposed to diseases. Others say they've bought from bird marts with no problems. Who knows?

Where are you in Southern California? What kind of bird do you want? Have you checked out Parrots Naturally in Tarzana, Bracken Bird Farm in Redlands, Magnolia Bird Farm in Riverside, The Bird Nest in Corona, A Bird Haven in Escondido. There must be many others.

I live in San Diego. I have been to A bird haven and plan on working there this summer. I was going to get a job at bird crazy but with gas prices it is just to much.

I was looking preferably for a Nanday Conure.

I am also building a large aviary (154 sq. ft.) and was looking for some non-tame smaller birds such as finches, cockatiels, and an array of conures. Since the cage is quite big, I was going to also add a Macaw. I pretty sure that the cage is big enough to hold a macaw or two with all the other birds without killing them. Am I correct?

I am looking for a breeder that sells African Grey's in my local area, or even somewhere in Southern California. What would be a good breeder? Please help.

Hi Josh,

If you don't mind driving south a bit, Omars Exotic Birds is in Placentia, Ca. We just bought our CAG from them and I know they've been around for a very long time. We were very happy with the staff there and their knowledge. It's a very clean place and the birds are treated sooooooooo good there.

Keep us posted!
