Question need advice please!

okay i have 2 dyh zons and im trying to get them to breed i was told to use aspen wood blocks in the nesting box for them to chew and use for the nest, they have not touched the blocks inside the box but the wooden ladder inside the box they chewed that thing all up! i was wanting to know what else i could stick in there to get them to chew on there is one breeder here in my town that told me to use tree branches and stuff like that but i dont know what type of trees and plants are okay for birds! if you can give me any advice i really need it thanks angela!!

Okay if you use tree branches you had better make sure these trees have not been sprayed with pesticide because it stays in the wood for yrs and yrs . I would not reccomend doing that . If I were you I would get the wood blocks that they sell at most bird stores and go with that and then let nature take its course . maybe you could buy the wood blocks in bulk and that would save you some money there . but good luck .
