id like 2 speak with a IRN breeder

i am getting my 1st and probably only pair of breeding birds.
is there cage suficent - 20x20x48 like a ferret cage?
where should i get a good nest box?
do u band?
what is a good diet for during mating. They have proven before but idk to me they didnt look healthy.

In order to breed IRN's successfully you will need a larger cage - I would go with at least 3 feet wide, but you could reduce that down to a 32 inch wide and probably still be okay, but I would not go any smaller then that. For a nest box - you are going to need a very deep box around 22-24 inches deep - IRN's will nest pretty deep and sometimes if the box is not deep enough they won't breed. A good size box for IRN's are 12x12x22or 24 inches - my IRN boxes are 14x14x22 which they love. Hope this helps and good luck!!!
