Help with lovebird breeding.
Hello,
I was given a pair of white face violet lovebirds who were proven breeders. Although I've never done it before, I figured I would give it a go, as they seem eager enough and I have the time and space and some of the knowledge I need. I've been hand feeding birds for several years now, but never straight from the nest. They are already on eggs, so there is no turning back now! So here are my questions:
-How long is the incubation time for lovebirds? (I have been told 23-25 days and I want to double check)
-How often should they be fed if they are taken out when the youngest is 2 weeks old?
-What is an appropriate feeding schedule?
-At the very start, how much should I expect them to eat?
-Should I seperate all the babies into different brooders? (One website I visited recommended that but I'd never heard it before!)
-When should they go for a vet exam?
Also, the pair have bred successfully before, but they have always raised them theirselves. Should I be concerned about them being very upset?
I would appreciate any information you could provide. Thank you for your expertise!
