Thumbs up Take a look at my new site. (Bridget's Budgies)

Hello everyone. I have made a site for my business. I breed American Budgies. I would like to know if I should add or change anything. Does it look like a site you would buy from? Please tell me what you think. Oh and does anyone know of any breeder listing sites I can put the my site on? Thanks

Looks good!! Try BirdBreeders.com - Bird Breeders Directory of Availability and Parrot Breeders. We typically get 100 hits a day from advertising on there.

Thanks

Thanks, that is a great site but don't you need to pay to advertise anything? Do you know any that are free?

Yes, there is a premium member section but you can still list your aviary for free. We got tons of calls before we became premium members. That is one of the better known sites. We have also advertised on parrot and conure world, upatsix, and a few others.

I would not post people's email addresses on your site. Also, lose the poll, it is unprofessional. I would probably make the blog the main page as that will have the most recent news. Are you going to get your own domain? You should. I like to see a personal bio about the breeder when I'm looking with a picture, and photos of the aviaries. Your photos are slow to load because the filesizes are big, you need to reduce their resolution so that they load faster.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Good suggestions about the domain. You can get them pretty darn cheap. I had one for over 6 years. I paid in 2 year increments and it was only around $20. A good investment for your business, plus it's a tax right off, just like advertising. ;)

IMO you should buy a domain name, your current (free?) one is impossible for anyone to remember. You want people to remember it and come back.

I probably wouldn’t have “waiting list” as one of the main links, it is a put off. That would be something to tell people when they enquire.

On some pages the block of text is black and on others it’s grey. Best to pick a colour and stick with it.

I see a lot of the pictures are not scaled properly and out of proportion, it can look a little dodgy(though I have seen worse). When you upload the photo to your server scale them to the size you want them beforehand. Eg image is 600x800 but in you html it scales it down to 200x500, this will make loading time for the viewer longer. Also maybe neaten up the picture page a little, everything else is nice and neat on the site.

Please don’t take my advice as being harsh, I didn’t mean it like that at all. I run my own business and my website is where I get all my income. First impression count.

Thanks for all of your input. Keep in mind that I don't take any of it to heart I asked for your help and I got it. Again thanks so much. I was asked about the mutation color of one of my budgies, For anyone who wants to know or debate my idea, I think Royalty is a deluded violet budgie. She also has semi spangle cinnamon wings. You should take a look she is so beautiful.
