Smile Breeders opinions needed

I have used an old incubator for some time and it was made out of oak wood, uses roller pins to rotate eggs and what appears to be a turn-ex heating element. Its been pretty good after lots of quirks were ironed out. Im looking for a new one and couldn't find a good rating system on the internet about all the different kinds available... so I was hopeing to get some opinions or testimonials about what's available now.

I've never used an incubator. I much prefer the natural method. I would be interested in hearing the opinions of others though.

I also always had the parent hatch the eggs. I just felt that it was best for the parents to feed for the begining. That is what the breeder that I learned from did so that is how I did it. I am also interested though in what are the better companies.

I have a couple of the Lyon Electric Turn-X Incubators. I have MODEL TX7: WITH TEN TURN SOLID STATE TEMPERATURE CONTROL AND AUTOMATIC EGG TURNING. You will see it mid way down the page on this link: Turn-X Incubators Getting the automatic Turner to me is a real need when incubating eggs. If your eggs do not get properly rotated through out incubation period then they may not hatch or can have problems in the chick. Although once drawdown begins and pip then rotation should come to a halt.

They are good little incubators but really depends on how many eggs you are having to incubate. I don't usually incubate eggs unless I need to. I often put eggs in just before hatching like from one pair I have who will eat their chicks if they hatch in the nest so just at the time of pip or right before pip time, I pull them and put them in there for those in need.

If I have eggs in the incubator that still need rotation and some that don't, then I place each of my eggs that no longer need rotated into a small glass dish to finish out for hatching in the incubator. That works well for me.

Yes, I also leave eggs in the nest but some pairs eat eggs, dont sit or just have too many eggs to brood. I like to remove some eggs when my conures lay six or seven and incubate. When they pip I put them under original pair and remove another egg or place them under a pair that has laid clear eggs or less eggs. So for me an incubator is essential. :O)
