Question is this normal?

i noticed that in most of my birds the hen gets restless befoure she lays her eggs.she flutters her wings a little bit, paces, and then lays her eggs.is this normal for zebra finches, society finches and diamond doves?

i have seen my females do all kinds of weird things before laying, including sitting in their food dish looking like they are on the brink of death (fluffed up etc). after laying, they are back to normal. i am no expert but i've had finches for about 10 years and as a woman who has had two children, i'm thinking i would be alittle stressed if i had to pass an egg!!!

i've noticed the half dead act along with wanting to be hidden or seek a warm spot or nitche act(such as your hands) befoure laying eggs but the fluttering wings and pacing was new to me.same here, and to think after that you'd have to sit on it and keep it warm for x ammount of days.

Some women walk around while in labor. Maybe it helps your hen(s) feel better?
