hi there,
my birds had four babies, but the runt is very small and dosent have its eyes open yet. The other three have thier eyes open and wander around the nest now, because of the other birds being more advanced then the runt will the runt die with out the body heat of the other birds?

hi,
i do not think the runt will die. do you have a warming tank you could put the baby in? like a brooder? or something, that way it will keep warm. if not you could make one really easy, my BFF steph has had one for years, and uses that for her babies to rest in and keep warm. plus, it all depends on if the babies are hand raised or parent raised. good luck |

How old is the runt? My youngest of my recent clutch, was always smaller than the others, and when they all had pin feathers coming in, she was still naked. However, she also was a lutino, and they do tend to feather slower.
Also, from what i remember, it takes about 7-10 days for their eyes to open. I am no expert, but I would probably keep babying the chick. Maybe it is just a little bit behind in its development and need extra care. Keep us updated!
