Senegal Band Idenification
Hi all,
I have a rescued Senegal that has a blue band. He's a quite scared right now and when I tried to touch his foot to read his band, of course he bit me and drew blood. My fault of course. Anyway, the best I can read off the band is BIH and it is an unusual blue color. I haven't seen one this color before. Here's a picture of the bird. Does anybody know anything about color bands? Do they signify a specific breeder? Thanks!

I recommend joining this site: LegBandNumbers : Leg Band Numbers The owner does a wonderful job finding band info.

Just a fyi regarding bands in general: When I ordered some for my babies, I had many colors to choose from, so no, the color does not indicate a particular breeder. Also the company I bought from said I could have any of the following info put on the band: the year, my state initials, up to 4 letters of my choice, plus numbers to identify the chicks in my logs (such as 1 -10 on the ten bands I ordered). The company that sells the bands does not register the bands for the breeder and did not give me suggestions for any particular registry to use.
