two females and a male mateing

hi i have two cockateils for two years there mates but have not had kids yet
recently i got a new frmail from the arl un known age but my male is geting along with the new bird well so well the other day i heard funny noise from the cage i looked to be shocked the male was humping the new bird they all 3 get along good but this is strange to me they are dna tested any one have any thought on this
