I was googling information on bird care when I found an injured baby Singing Honeyeater on the day after Christmas (Boxing Day) 2007.
A short while later realised there was a cockatoo forum, and lurked until I couldn't browse any more pages for the day. So I signed up. Then I lurked some more.
Eventually I reared my ugly head. Ho hum :D

I was searching online for info about my green cheek conure before I got her and BB seemed to have people that loved their birds so much so I signed up! Never been a member of a discussion board before, BB is so addicting, I just love hearing about all of the different birds and no one seems to get tired of the new adventures of the same birds (or new birds with the same owner) I have read some other boards about birds and the people on there aren't nearly as knowledgeable or nice as on BB! I even read a post about someone that had a GCC that they said was so noisy they never wanted another conure again and they were waiting for the day that it would die! I love it here so much I can't even say enough about BB! I'm converted and here to stay!

I was on the Senegal list quite a few years ago and remember seeing some links posted in the digests. I usually don't have a lot of time to be real active in forums. But since we are planning to move from Hawaii to NC...I wanted to find some local bird clubs for information on bringing parrots to the state, etc.. in the Charlotte area. This site came up first on the search..so I joined!

I read about someone posting to BB in another forum - so I checked out this forum... I put "word of mouth" since this seemed the most appropriate.

Since then I've noticed that BB ranks high in google for certain searches... Nice to see.
