I bought a travel cage for Dave. I have several options to watch him when I am gone and I trust them implicitly but I miss him. There will be times when I will have to travel without him but I find I am planning vacations where he can go too.

I really only go to work and maybe on a Saturday I may go to the town an hour away for shopping...but I have two dogs and two birds and feel guilty if I leave them...

I am NOT a big vacationer because I would rather stay home and be with my family so they have not really made me stay home, I am a home body to begin with.

If I had to go somewhere, I would place them with a reputable boarder or have some one come here and stay with them.

I didn't go on a 4 day visit to my sisters house 6 hours away for Easter. Because J-Bell was still so young. I told my family, when she's older. They do think I'm crazy.

We live out in the country with a menagerie and it's difficult to find someone to come over to stay with the animals. We have four dogs, two cats, two birds in the house and 15 chickens.

The sad thing is I work for a travel agency

When I have gone my husband stays home with the fids.

So maybe another poll would be "When's the last time you have been away together with the whole human family?"

I have a few times, longest was when I had to go to another state for a week and a half, left my mother to look after the birds, as much as I hated leaving them (it broke my heart!) I just kept reminding myself how happy I would be to see them when I got back, and how happy they would be to see me too.

Myself and my mum and 2 brothers will be going away on a 2-3 week holiday, I don't want to leave them, but I'm going to ask a friend who owns a 'tiel if he'll come over and check on them once a day and feed them + give them clean water while we're gone.

There isn't any thing like a bird sitter here and all my friends have a cat and I don't really trust my best friend with Bullie AND All my other friends are against me keeping birds....but one but she lives 2 hours away.
The only person I do trust is my grandma or my aunt who are 6hours away.......

3 days after I got Buddie we drove 6 hours with Buddie in a cardboard box.....she didn't like that much!!
