While I still travel a lot, I have cut way back because of the birds. I do have a great birdsitter but I really hate being away from them.

I am lucky to have both a professional pet sitter and friend's teens who REALLY want birds of their own. Sometimes suspect the fids are a bit disappointed when I come home, because they get a lot more attention when I am away (just kidding).

I have a girlfriend with a key to my house so that if I go anywhere all I have to do is call. Should I be kept later, she will go over and feed and tend to the birds.

not only have I not gone somewhere, I have added several hundred miles of driving just to come back and feed them and let them out the cages for a bit. Although I do believe I have finally found someone to watch them who will do it right!!

We don't travel near as much as we used to. We've cut our traveling down to about 85% of what it used to be. With each bird we add, the less we travel. But we are building a birdroom and a sleeping room for them, upgrading to large cages for all and have found a sitter to take care of them while we are gone. As of the spring, we're going to start back on our regular traveling schedule.

I have limited my travel in the because of my birds, for sure. This past summer we bought a trailer to tow behind our suburban, and now the birds can go with us. I see alot more trips in the future!! We're actually planning on going away for about a month this coming Fall, I've never been gone longer than 2 wks (worrying the whole time even with adequate care for them), and even that's only been twice! I'm so excited to be able take them with us all around the US (we could go to Canada too, if they were all close-banded or microchipped, but they're not and I don't think they ever will be) this year.
