Just to add on to that... some monitors can only handle certain screen sizes... normally, if your screen doesn't fit, you can make the screen wider in length and height, or smaller... but it can depend on type of monitor and system (i.e. Windows 98, XE, etc) or rather the age of it...

1280 x 800 but it's an Aussie model if that makes any difference.

I should mention that since I went to a 22" flatpanel, my desktop is now 1680 x 1050.
((DOH! That kinda adds a whole new category doesn't it.))
