What is your monitors screen resolution?

What is your monitors screen resolution?

I am asking this so Dog Board can be designed and optimized for the majority of members screens.

If you do not know... Here is how to check.

1. Minimize all your windows so all you see is your desktop.

2. Right click on an open area on the desktop, and you will be prompted with a grey panel. Select Properties.

3. You will se the grey screen with several tabs across the top, select the one that says Settings

you will then see on the left side of the grey panel it will say 1024 x 768? 800 x 600? 1152 x 864? 1280 x 1024?

1024 x 768. I've always wondered what exactly this means. What is the best one to have it set at? Does it matter?

Camille....it means 1024 pixels long x 768 pixels high.

Yes, it can make a difference, but it's very hard to say what is "best".
It depends on the size of your monitor & how good your vision is.

The more pixels on the screen, the more clear detail ya can see in pictures & the bigger the "onscreen desktop".
The drawback is, however, the larger the screen res, the smaller text will appear.
15" monitors are good at 800x600 or 1024x768(1280x1024 will work on very few, but print will be tiny.)
17" monitors are good at 1024x768 or 1152x864(1280x1024 will work on most, but print is very small.)
19" monitors are good at 1024x768 or 1152x864(1280x1024 will work but print is small.)
20" monitors are good at 1152x864 or 1280x1024 (1600x1200 will work but print is small.)

Hope that helps.
