It's great to hear all this feedback! I want to make the Event Calander the central location for all shows, marts, and events. If you hear about anything that is not already listed on the calander, send me a PM with as much information as you can and I will see that it gets posted. Right now, I'm getting my information from Bird Talk and what I personally know about.

Went Sat and came home with a cutie

I was at the Bird Mart show 02/10/2007 and could not resist this beauty. She is 5 1/2 month old.

What a beauty! I'm working with someone to adopt a B&G who is about 10 years old. If that happens, I'm calling it a full house.... until I get a van to transport them all

Attending Bird Shows

I am the Vendor Coordinator for the Long Island Parrot Society. I have been booking the vendors for our events for the past 6 years. People attend the events mainly for the fabulous items they can buy, but having a raffle table filled with great items really does draw a good crowd. I attend about 10 other events throughout the year for two reasons; to buy stuff for my fids and to keep in touch (& find new ones) with vendors. When I attend other events, I find they are not as well attended as our events and from what I see, its all about promotions/advertising. Some of the other events I have attended are fantastic and I hope I can continue to live up to the demands of the public by bringing in vendors with new items each year. Any comments or suggestions? I welcome constructive criticism, not insults.

One more thing..

Please don't attend shows that raffle birds. Just look at all the unwanted parrots around! If you see a club that is raffling birds, send them a message, nicely, stating that this is not a good practice. Thanks. e
