It's just me & Pita, and if I cut back on anything because of the econemy it's for me, not him. I worked hard to get him this spoiled.....LOL

I am the same as the others, with 5 dogs, 3 horses, 2 parrots and a 100 gal salt water tank, I will spend the same. My animals depend on me and when I took them into our family, it was my dedication to them!

I've been cutting down on a lot of things, not just due to the economy but because it's a good idea even under better circumstances. I don't rush out to buy the latest video game when it's first released so often as I used to, I don't buy expensive coffee at a cafe as often, nor am I eating at restaurants as often, because it's cheaper and healthier not to. I make sure my pets get everything they need, and new toys once in a while, and it's not as if they really are that expensive to care for, the occasional vet bill aside. Anyhow most bird toys are pretty inexpensive.

Guess im in the minory here but the economy is treating me pretty good, im not getting rich mind you, but i am able to spoil my birdies and splurge on myself every once and a while. In fact i think the poll should include the choice of "I plan on spending more on my pets" because i am increasing the budget i have for them.

I'm a spendthrift by nature so I buy new cages on clearance, make many of my toys, bake bird treats and build my own playstands and perches. My idea of spoiling my birds is spending time with them.I bet if they had to chose between new stuff and my time it would be an easy choice.

I'm spending the same $$ on my animals as before, maybe even more, but I'm not adding another which I would like to do.
