I'm an owner I suppose because I rarely sell the birds I bought. I also breed and sell the young ones. If the young ones are not good enough for sale because of a hanging wing or an upturned nail (zebrafinches), I simply keep them for the rest of their lives. They even breed.
My guinnea pigs and rabbits are dumped animals (allergy and divorce). I don't breed with them because most people keep rodents in too small cages so after a year or two or sooner most of them die.

I'm half and half,i bought my bird so i polled regular,i also bought two of my snakes and my scorpion but was given two dogs, one that was going to be put down because she had ringworm the other was just going to be drowned,i was also given a snake that turned up in someones garden and two unwanted rabbits, and will probably be taking a sick rosella in a few weeks if all goes well with her treatment. :)

Rescue. We have adopted out more than is listed on our site as we decided to start with those adopted/fostered since it's creation. We have many going through the rehabilitation process at the moment. Lots of feathers in need out there.

BB makes great break spot for in between cages and birdie chores.

we're bird owned. by 3 conures, 2 parrotlets, 2 cockatiels and a budgie. all but 2 of the birds were given to us as they had flock members who could no longer take care of them.
