I am owned by a lovebird. But have been in contact with the local Rescue and they are 6 hours from us. They want to get people up in my town to contribute and have asked me to help so I might be a rescuer soon. :)

My Quaker was a rescue as he flew in our window, and our Lilac Crown Amazon we adopted from a needful situation. Our Yellow Crown Amazon, and our Ring Neck Dove are both bought birds. I polled as a regular owner, but I'm kinda a rescue/owner. Wally

Hmmm...my Kozmo was adopted from a local rescue and I am currently a foster mom to Que Cera so I guess that makes me a regular owner/rescue/crazy lady

Half normal half rescue.

My first bird was a deformed runt & all my other animals bar Mikko have been given to me. I just couldn't live without a bird after my baby girl died so I went to a breeder & got Mikko.

After a long day of training bigger parrots I just like to sit back with a budgie on my head & be serenaded with the days learnings as he preens my hair for me

Here though rescue places are dodgy, and either expect you to take on thousands in vet fees for rescued animals or to take a Spanish inquisition & should you get one thing wrong, wont let you even see any birds for re homing.

Funny bunch, the UK rescue centres. My rescues so far have all been donations from private owners unable to cope, changing circumstance or a breeder with a deformed or runted animal.

What's "normal"? :-).

We are owned by birds that we have purchased, as well as birds that we have been given (both by individuals and by a rescue person). However, that doesn't make us a rescuer or a foster home by the usual definitions of those words. So I guess that makes us "normal" owned-bys :-).
