Half normal half rescue.
My first bird was a deformed runt & all my other animals bar Mikko have been given to me. I just couldn't live without a bird after my baby girl died so I went to a breeder & got Mikko. After a long day of training bigger parrots I just like to sit back with a budgie on my head & be serenaded with the days learnings as he preens my hair for me ![]() Here though rescue places are dodgy, and either expect you to take on thousands in vet fees for rescued animals or to take a Spanish inquisition & should you get one thing wrong, wont let you even see any birds for re homing. Funny bunch, the UK rescue centres. My rescues so far have all been donations from private owners unable to cope, changing circumstance or a breeder with a deformed or runted animal.

What's "normal"? :-).
We are owned by birds that we have purchased, as well as birds that we have been given (both by individuals and by a rescue person). However, that doesn't make us a rescuer or a foster home by the usual definitions of those words. So I guess that makes us "normal" owned-bys :-).
