I have seen them at the bird fair here, they are not expensive either, roughly $100-200. I haven't heard too much about them as pets, but the links seem to suggest they are more aviary birds than cuddly pets. I'd like to hear if anyone has one!

Kakarikis

From Robert and Hercules.kakarikis are not cuddly pets. Not would they be normally regarded as companions. But I can understand Why somebody are drawn to finches. Some parrots are so placid, guiet and/or sedate I can understand. This reminds me of what Banjo Paterson said long ago,"there was movement at the station" Some parrots hardly make much movement. If a person would like a parrot ,that is always on the move, and never stops ,darting around here and there, then the Kakaariki might be for that person. You could set the house up,for them and watch them dart everywhere. I have meet someone who was thrilled with her Kakarikis. Best From Robert and hercules
