Molting Quaker
My new 7 month old Piper is going through a major molt. Is this normal for a first molt ? He doesnt go to Dr. Lennox for another 2 weeks for his first appt.
He will sit on his perch flapping his wings as fast as he can and everytime you can see a few feathers fall. Plus he does not like to be touched where new feathers are coming in. I have been misting him daily and letting him take a bath every other day. I dont remember the rest of my birds molting this bad the first time.

Sounds just like a normal baby molt. They are always the worst. Just give him extra sweet potatoes and some showers and it will make the whole thing easier.
