Newbie - one bird or two? need advice
Our family will soon be getting our first bird. Our daughter is 10 and we hope the bird will bond with her. We are thinking of a budgie or maybe two.
I have read that budgies can get lonesome if on their own. So, I was thinking of getting two. We have visited two bird only pet shops and they told us that if we got two, they would not bond (or even interact much) with our daughter but only with each other. They said that one bird would not get lonely because our family would be its' flock. I want my daughter to be able to play with and bond with the bird but don't want it to be lonesome either. I do stay at home so the bird would not be alone during the day. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks, Adele |
