Oh, I think I do agree with you... someday another bird will pick me (I hope!) and at that time, I will be ready for it. I guess it just really bothers me that any moron can buy such a smart and loving creature. Most of the time the people who buy these birds don't know anything about them and don't really care. They just want a talking machine.

I know there are exceptions to this rule - people who go out and buy a bird on the spur, and then they realize what a commitment they have made, and they try to learn everything they can to make it work. I guess I'm just a pessimist sometimes and I am afraid he/she will get bought by someone who wont treat him/her right.

I wish he/she were at a rescue or at a breeder or anywhere but a pet store. He deserves better!

<VBG> I am going to hope like heck that this little fella has found an excellent home by the time it's time for me to get dog food again. Or else something terrible could happen to my bank account! I don't know how much more of that soulful stare and persistent head scratching I can take.

Of course, the mechanic has still not figured out what is wrong with my truck, so if it turns out to be some thousand dollar repair, I am going to be really screwed! *sigh* Things just ain't going my way lately.

Well I have to say that I got my RB2 because of stupid people. The husband went in the pet store and thought the bird was beautiful and so bought it for his wife never having owned birds before!!!! DUMB, DUMB DUMB!!!! She got bit and then quit handling my gorgeous bird so it then lived in a cage for a year before we got it. Now don't get me wrong they tried in some ways to be good parronts but they didn't have a clue what they were doing so yes they fed her and they took her to the vet for checkups and stuff but now she is totally terrified of hands and terrified to come out of her cage so we get the fun of trying to turn her around which we will eventually do, because she is young, only 2 years old. But they should have never gotten her cause if your not a bird person you should not start off with a cockatoo as your first bird unless you have done a lot of research but the pet stores don't care they will sell you a bird! I am not complaining cause I ended up getting her free which is the only way I could ever have afforded her cause in the pet store she cost $2500 LOL but it will take us alot of time to get her to come around. So probably the pet store where that Gray is is not going to care what kind of home it goes to as long as they get the money! It does sound like the bird picked you though and it sounds like it likes you. Our bird when it was in the pet store used to be sweet and loving and that is the image I keep in my head of her and I tell myself that eventually I will get her back to that point. Hopefully that gray will find a good home, yours. LOL
