Baytril???

I came across this about Baytril and thought it was a little scary if it's true. Has anyone else read this before? Sorry it's so long but if you scroll down you can read more about the effects this person claims is on not only birds but other animals.

Lmao

Whoever posted that is a total moron, ihave been using baytril for years on birds and it is totally safe.

The only problem would be an allergic reaction and that happens with any drug in about 1% of animals.

Baytril is one of the best antibiotics out there and it comes in many forms.

Baytril 100 will cause problems in birds dogs cats sheep pigs etc because it is made for bovines and contains chemicals that are not compatable with other animals.

Baytril inj 22.7 and the taste tabs are safe in birds and other small animals and are used widly by very good avian vets throughout the country.

Stupid people are why god created sharks.

LOL John, you are funny! I have 2 birds on Baytril right now and have used it in the past and have never had a problem with it myself. Thanks for posting that! Leah

Actually, Baytril is probably the MOST used antibacterial among avian vets. It hasn't been officially approved for the use in birds by the FDA, but that has nothing to do with its effectiveness. Baytril is usually the very first drug to be administered to any bird with elevated white blood counts until cultures can be grown and other meds prescribed. Its a scattershot approach to treat the unknown.
