safe woods?

I am trying to find materials to use as toys for Scarlett to hopefully distract her from barbering her feathers. I bought a coconut but now my boyfriend needs to buy a saw or something to get it open. My carrots aren't ready to be pulled from the garden yet--I read that they like to play with the tops of those.

What about tree branches? I remember reading a list somewhere of what types of wood were safe for parrots to chew/strip. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would suggest an old trick. Try hanging a clean feather duster in her cage.
