Concerned for Buck Buck

I am in a total panic - Buck Buck's weight isn't good; all of the other birds' weights are good, so it can't be the food mix that I have.
I hope (fingers crossed) to get him into the vet tomorrow for blood tests. Avian vets are scarce in this area, however, this vet is so good I am praying he can squeeze me in tomorrow.
Please keep us in your prayers - I am beside myself with worry!

How low is his weight from normal???? Don't panic stay calm, it's been hot and sticky and even mine aren't eating quite as much as normal.

A vet visit can start the process of elimination. My guess as I stated to you over the phone based on the symptoms you describe is likely a parasite, perhaps worms. He has none of the symptoms for the big 3 diseases and unless there's some form of toxin he's ingested, its as good a guess as any. I know how frightened you are, I've been there myself. You are a wonderful parront and always have been. Don't beat yourself up. You're on top of this.

Laurie, don't give up, if they won't give you an appointment just go there. How can they say no to a sick bird, they have to make allowances for emergencies. You are a great Bird Mom, I hope and prat Buck Buck will be OK!

I FINALLY got a hold of my vet's ofice this morning; seems they are double-booked today as the vet is going out of town tomorrow, however, the receptionist told me to bring Buck in as they know how serious weight loss in exotic birds is, and they would squeeze us in.
Of course being a "mother" I wanted to go, but with Hurricane Dennis threatening this area, my boss has a million things for me to do today, and she did tell me to go ahead and take Buck in, but being the loyal employee I am, I asked hubby to go instead. My boss really is awesome, so I try to not take advantage of her good-heartedness.
Anywho, I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for word from hubby................. I did send a magazine with him in case it was a long wait!
