I would leave it alone, let the bird keep her nest. She felt comfy enough to build it there.

]What problems are you anticipating? I think it's a privilege to have the nest there! Enjoy it!
(I'd put it back where you found it) (and take pics for us :-)

I'm concerned that once the eggs hatch the mother will become more aggressive. We spend a LOT of time on our back porch in the summer. We often leave the door open so the dogs can go in and out as they please. (we have a gate to keep them on the porch) I also have 2 small nephews that come and spend the weekends with us.
I'm just concerned that once the babies actually hatch the mother will start dive-bombing us every time we go outside! At the moment she seems ok with us being there. She will sit on the nest while we're there, leaving only if something startles her, but returning within minutes. |

Well I had the same problem and the mother laid 10 eggs. YES 10 cause I counted them. We also use our back porch a lot and well unfortantly she never hatched them. Don't know why she just stopped sitting on them but I watch them for several days after she stopped sitting and she never returned. Now I have a nest with 10 eggs in it and no babies. :(

If these are little wrens, you will all co-exist quite nicely. Not sure about other birds. If its a catbird or mockingbird nest, you may simply have to vacation elsewhere for a while
