Any advice would be appreciated.

It's possible, but it'd be hard... Can ya explain the band? Maybe the information that's on it as well?

Here's quite a few links that may help...

Thanks Monica,

The band is your regular open import band instead of the flat, solid domestic.

We've had her so long she is starting to show her age. The vet couldn't say for sure and when we got her she was a part of a pair. The only thing that is on the paperwork is mature and proven. Not much help huh?

Bands

You'll probably see a series of 3 letters and 3 numbers. The first letter would tell you what state the bird came through quarantine, N= New York, F=Florida... the other #'s and letters are just file codes. I've had customers contact the USDA, given them the band #, type of bird and they were able to tell them when the bird came into the country. Good luck

I have a hawkhead with ABC 55 on his band--haven't been able to find out anything about it.

I'd join the legband numbers yahoo group, I'm a member there, and they can help.

but then again, with a bit of digging I had to find my own. But the info is out there.
