He sure does have interesting colors! I wonder if he'll keep those colors or if he'll molt into a green and yellow bird???

Anyway, the new baby does LOOK like a male, but he is young so it could be hard to tell for sure! I like Pippin!

Nancy, I can't wait till I can get a pic of both Sunny and the baby together for you to see the extreme difference in quality of these two birds!

This baby is so much larger than Sunny even at 7 wks! the feathers even feel to be healthier, fuller more brilliant. and weight, my goodness, Sunny weighs nothing! you'd never know she was sitting on you if she was quiet and still! This baby is one healthy great quality bird.

I thought that my cockatiel I got from Mary was also much higher quality too, but after some of the other tiels I saw at Precious Pet cottage, there is just no comparison!

I just had no idea how poorly bred most of the "petstore" birds were. I am so lucky and thrilled that I found Mary! She is excellent!!!!

Anybody in the Tri-state area - it's worth the drive if your looking for a baby parrot - she does all kinds - no toos though (bad allergies to them!)!

www.mandtexoticbirds.com can't say enough of how much I love her!

I agree!

About the size, it does not necessarily mean a smaller bird is inferior. Wild budgies are often smaller than ones bred in captivity, especially English budgies. I also noticed that the wings seem to be quite drastically clipped. You should only have the outer five to eight done, fewer on a baby.

Oh, I just assumed that any american budgie would be realtively the same size, but now thinking about it, even cats in the same litter or dogs are often different sizes.

And it is possible that the baby may have some English budgie in it's background. I think she said that she often breeds back to the English. She did have a 1/2 & 1/2 baby there as well as a full english budgie. So that could also account for the size.

Oh good, I was worried that Sunny maybe would develop heath problems possibly later on if she was a runt or well, I think you know what I'm trying to say! Anyway, I'm glad to hear she is most likely just small!

English budgies are markedly larger and usually sweeter than American budgies.
