Although English budgies are definitely larger, most pet stores here in the US get their budgies or parakeets from a massive breeder out west. They are bred by the thousands and shipped all over the country. Some stores don't even know where they are coming from because they deal with a broker.

At any rate, we always got ours from a local breeder, and I noticed a maked difference in size and health. The birds from the brokers always seem small and underfed.

So, please cast your vote to help us name our new Budgie. Sunny is a girl, not sure yet of course what baby is! So keep this in mind when you vote.

If you have another suggestion, please feel free to vote for that too!

So here are the names in the running:

Rain
Disney
Willow
Pippin

Here are a few pics to help you out. They aren't the greatest yet, didn't want to freak her out too much! He/she is such a sweet baby! But this is her first few hours home, so better pics will follow!

I nominate Jerome Featherweight Merryweather

That's what I was thinking. She did have some English budgies there and even the 1/2 & 1/2 one was so much bigger than this baby. The English baby was HUGE! Funny, the crested one was the smalled and wasn't as friendly!

Willow or Rain

Hi Tracy!

Your budgie is beautiful. Sort of reminds me of Mister Abbey. I read the thread, and I to was thinking of calling Abbey.....Sky!

But I went with Mister Abbey, I named it after a puppy I helped rescued.

I like Rain,,,,,,and I also like Willow!!!!!!! How is Sunny adjusting?

Hard Decision isn't it!

Diana and Mister Abbey
