As gross as it sounds...if they do poop on the carpet, I let it dry first, then vacuum the dried stuff, then use a stain remover. Seems to work the best. You can try and wipe it up wet, but no matter how careful I am, I found it makes the stain a lot bigger.

I don't have too many carpet accidents though. I have plastic under their cages or put towels down in other places where they're the most likely to mess.

Poop-Off!

"Instantly dissolves bird droppings and is safe on all washable and painted surfaces. Poop-Off is nontoxic and biodegradable. Use it on bird cages, perches, walls, clothing, carpet, toys, wood, floors, upholstery and more. With a pleasant fragrance Poop-Off works by enzymatic action to remove all kinds of poop."
http://www.naturechest.com/poopoff.html

It gets rid of the carpet stains almost instantly for me. I love this stuff. You can find it at any petstore that sells birds, I would think.

Oxyclean or Poop-Off work well. Poop-off comes in wipes or stray bottle for the larger stains. I use both, depending on the stain.

I found a place that has Poop-Off in a Gallon Jug. http://www.windycityparrot.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

I order 90% of my stuff from this place cause of the free shipping over $35 purchased. Plus their prices are reasonable.

I picked up the small container with the brush and it is fantastic! It smells alot like Nature's Miracle, that they sell in the dog/cat area. I didn't compair the contents though. Poop Off does work on dog puke stains, though! :)

Poop N Carpet

Poop Off is safe to use around birds. Some people don't like the smell of it but it doens't bother me. There is a smaller bottle of it available with a brush on top just for cleaning carpets and upholstery.
I have the Little Green Machine here for cleaning poop off the carpert. I just use OxyFresh in it as that is a safe one as well. Sure makes clean-up easier.

Poop N Carpet

Wish I could rip up the carpet here. Easier to sweep than to use a vacuum. lol

Well, it'll be awhile before I can take out the carpet, but in the interim, Poop-Off is FANTASTIC. I noticed that it smells alot like another cleaner, Nature's Miracle. And it also took out the dog puke stain! :)
