TAG's and Bottles?

Would you reccomend a bottle or water bowl for a TAG?

Bottle. I would get a couple so you can disinfect one while the other is in use. Just soaking in a 1pt chlorine to 10 pts water solution is good, 15 minutes is all it needs. You couild just use one and take it out of the cage at bedtime and disinfect it then to pût back clean in the morning.

I like water dishes and always worry about water bottles getting food stuck under the ball and water draining out. I think it is more natural for a bird to drink from a dish than a bottle. I think water bottles are for rodents not birds.JMO

I use those tubes that have a beak-sized receptacle just big enough for the bird to stick his beak into but small enough that they usually can't poop or otherwise foul the water. I have never used the rodent variety of water bottle, I was worried the birds wouldn't know how to use it.

Ha!! My birdies climb into the guinea pig enclosures to drink from the piggies water bottles, they LOVE them. I will be getting them bottles of their own soon. ;~)

I suggest both, he may enjoy splashing and bathing in the bowl and would not have the chance with the bottle and #2, there would be an alternative drinking source SHOULD the bottle become clogged with a seed or whatever. It does happen and birds dehydrate FAST! Just my opinion, but my avian vet recommends two, a bowl and a bottle if you are using a bottle.

I put on in Harley's cage and he took right to it. I placed it right over the water dish so if it did leak it was ok. He drinks from the bottle and uses his bowl to dip his pellets in, so to say the least I am still cleaning his bowl all them time, but its what he enjoys doing.
