AyatLeila at 1 Year 2Weeks 3 Days

BS"D

You may remember poor AyatLeila, Ara Macao (Scarlet Macaw) who was given to me in settlement of an 18 year-old debt from so-called "breeders". When I picked her up, she had no feathers on her breast,or back. She had pulled all of her coverts, & chewed off the 4 proximal flights on each wing. Here is a picture of her & O'Hara (her maybe one day mate) she is on the top of course
I had choanal & cloacal cultures, metals blood panels, & full endocrine & exocrine panels performed. The results showed her to be infected with +3 Eschiricha Coli, +4 Pseudomonas, suffering from zinc poisoning, & having very abnormal liver panels. After 5 months of treatments, including piperacillin, baytril, chelated calcium (CA EDTA) & claforan, she is now quite healthy.
Here are some views of her as she appears today

Quite the improvement. Still trying to drag the verkachte vet in for a deposition, he has more excuses than most birds have feahters. However, in the end, he will not escape.

Wow, she's one beautiful gal! I love the colors on those feathers. It's almost unreal how colorful she is.

I'm sure she would thank you if she could.

She does, everyday when I see her happily playing, intently preening or just joyfully clowning about. Sometimes a good action is rewarded by a better result. AyatLeila is truly showing a better result. She is very sweet, quite inquisitive & steady of temperment.

What does O'hara think of her? :)
Do they interact well together?
