My severe macaw is 20 plus years old. He has arthritic feet and cataracts. I also believe he doesn't hear very well.

Lynda, all sources now "adays" are saying that 'tiels live up to 20-30 years. As new information, care, and nutrition arrises, I'd say bird lifespans will increase even more than they have over the last few decades. In BirdTalk magazine, issue; September 2003(?), "All About Tiels", I recall them saying the cockatiel could get up to 40 YEARS OLD!

Holy Smokes LOL!

Unhappy

I have a friend who recently rehomed his Cockatoo(as he is getting too old to properly take care of her) that was 52 yrs old when last I saw her. Her name is Sassy and she's 62 now. I also know of Stanley, owned by Jon Mark Davey of Quakerville, whose Quaker is 48 yrs old. Way longer than Quakers are supposed to live. I am not sure, but I think he was wild-caught.
How sad to have to be separated at such an old age(The Too and her owner).

Rowdy

Rowdy my BFA just turned 50 this year and he still gets around like a 20 year old.

Old birds make killer friends.

king tut

I thought King Tut, the moluccan cockatoo died about 10 years ago, at about 65 years of age.

Wow, those are some ripe old ages! My birds are only nearly 2 and 1.5, so they've got a while to go!

My goldfish is workin its way up though....he's now 8 years old I think? He's completely beaten the odds. I won him at a traveling carnival, he stayed in the plastic bag for about 1 hour too long, was scratched by my cat (he still has the scar on his side) and still gets hunted by our three cats on occasion. He's now a good six inches long! When I got him he was just a puny little guy probably about 1 inch long.
