Oh and before you ask, Fauna Rescue is where rescued or injured animals come into your care to be looked after untill they are fir to be returned to the wild, this is generally things like possums and kangaroos not so much parrots.
So then how do these parrots find there way into the homes of people for re homing and rescue? please excuse my dumbness. |

The rescued parrots that would be up for adoption would most likely be those that have been in someone else's home, not native Australian wild birds. Those that end up at rescues are often just given up by people for different resons, ie: they were not prepared for the mess, noise, needs, etc. Some birds in recues have come form abusive or neflectfull situations.

The type of rescue Franciscus mentioned is generally a non-profit organization and is an established and published group of people that have a system set up that works like he stated.
There are also individuals, like many here on the board, that parrots find them. People know they have parrots, and birds come to them from friends or friends of friends, etc. They then either keep the bird, or rehabilitate and rehome the bird into a better situation, with a responsible, capable owner. This has happened to me many times throughout my life, and I know there are a few others on here that will take in birds and find better homes for them if they don't have the room or resources to care for the bird themselves.
