Cute photos. Got a funny story to share.

A few years ago, I purchased 2 keets for my then 4 year old granddaughter. We only had big birds and she wanted birds more her size. Not know any better, we allowed them to fly around the house a few hours every day. They always returned to their cage.

One evening, only one bird showed up. We searched high and low but couldn't find that little budgie anywhere. I was starting to fear that some awful accident had happened or perhaps it had flown out of the door. After all, with little kids in the house, that can always happen. I started calling her name, Petunia, and thought I heard a faint cheep. It was coming from the livingroom, but I couldn't find her. I feared she was trapped in a sofa or chair and was just about to start removing the bottom sofa skrim when she chirped again.

Turns out, she was hanging upside down UNDER the lamp table on the edge of the tablecloth. That was the LAST time they were allowed the joy of flight. Who the heck looks under tableclothes for parakeets?

Budgies seem attracted to lamps of all shapes and sizes, don't they? Your budgie is adorable!

Thats some cute stories! Gizmo is a cutie!

My Princess of Wales parakeet likes to fly from the top of his cage to the top of our chandelier! Only we usually keep those lights on all day and they get a bit hot!!!

We have to keep a close on eye on him! Birds are so much fun!
