How Are Orphan Birdies This Morning?

So how are things going at the new South Georgia Home for Wayward Fids? Did they have a restful evening? I'm not even going to ask if YOU had a restful evening. And the new Orphan Sensor Device -- I hear it's due to be installed later this week. We want ALL the details. I so much admire you for what you're doing with these little ones. Dino's post was very interesting -- maybe she'll be able to get them into a suitable rescue/rehab setting. May their new life make them forget entirely about their former life.

I know, Lissa. My heart aches for these two guys and I just want to take them and make their lives good -- although after reading Nancy's post yesterday I no longer feel the burning desire to cuddle with them. LOL.

Hmmm well my ears are burning this morning also wondering how all is going with the orphans. Boy It has made me do a little thinking after hearing what happened to you. My birds are often outdoors and I have had people litterlly stop to see the birds. Hmmmm I hope people don't decide I look like a place to bring their unwanted birds to

I was given a sun conure once because I had my girls at a car show.... that's the weirdest one I've had. I've often worried though when I lived in a house that was by the street, not about people bringing their unwanted birds, because I could always get them the help they need, but about "bad" people noticing that I have birds, and either stealing or hurting them. I now live in a house away from the street, but up on a hill. If people in the valley see me with the birds, good luck to them on finding which house it is, pretty hard, but I still worry about the people that see them that wander down our drive to sell us something, or people that we have come in to work on something or another. I don't have an alarm system, but I do have security cameras prominently displayed.... but I always think: I'd feel sorry for the poor sap that would try to steal Tiki... there'd be pleanty of forensic evidnce to convict! (not that I'd ever want that to happen!)

Also, there's someone at my house 90+% of the time..... and the birds absolutely FREAK out if a stranger walks in their room unescorted... Niki goes into full battle cockatoo mode and screams at the top of her lungs. If you've ever heard an M2 at full volume, you'd be scared too!

I don't worry about someone stealing my birds but since seeing how these 2 birds just got dropped literally on a doorstep it has made me think. The person who did this either just couldn't take care of them(which is sad) or just didn't want to take care of them. But either way that person was wrong putting such a responsibility on another person.
